Course: Thorpe Lodge

Location: near Newark. Nottinghamshire

A very flat left handed course with softish fences run around spring crops.

When the wind blows it arrives uninterrupted from Siberia making this one of the coldest Point-to-Point courses around - and there's nowhere to hide so proper clothing is a must.

Quite a long trek in from the main road so arriving in plenty of time is recommended. Plenty of bookmakers and and a few trade stands.

Runners scamper along the back straight.

The finishing straight crowd wait expectantly.

Bookies and punters alike shiver in the icy winter sunshine.
